The new German Act on the protection of Cultural Property has been adopted by the Bundestag in July 2016. The new law included the protection of of Germany's national cultural property as well as the national cultural property of other States Parties to the UNESCO 1970 Convention, especially to crisis-ridden or war-torn countries such as Syria and Iraq.
